I thought it would be nice to add a short blog informing everyone about things going on in my life not directly related to acting or fits into the "news" section of the website.
I'll begin my first blog entry with saying how happy I am that it's only 59 days away from seeing the one and only Shirley MacLaine at the Warner Theatre in Torrington, Connecticut. I literally began watching her movies and reading her books In August. I've learned so much in the past few months alone from this truly remarkable person then most of the people I love and admired in my whole lifetime both screen and my real life. She's truly beautiful on the inside and out. As much as I love and have learned from watching Miss MacLaine on screen/stage I have learned the most by reading her books. I guess I learned many things from watching her on screen which has fed my acting, directing, creative side of my life and her books have fed my heart, soul, mind, curiosity and has shaken me back to the more important things of life. Before I started watching her films one insomnia filled night I was spiraling down a dark and windy road. I was so foregone in depression that all hope seemed lost. So much chaotic and horrible things were happening in my life and I just felt as if my soul was dying. I thank Shirley MacLaine for opening that door for me. However, I am the one who walked through it. She gave me food for thought. I took it and went out on my own limb to get to the fruit of my own truth. And I wlll forever be thankful to Shirley. And I hope I get a chance to thank her in person. I feel very blessed I get a chance to see this woman on stage talking about her life, career, and her beliefs. My friend Andrea and I will be second row center left. The stage is literally only a few feet away. Words can't even express what I am feeling, what I will be feeling when I get a chance to speak and meet someone I feel like I've known all my life but in reality has only been a few months. I am planning to dress up like Irma La Douce a character made famous by MacLaine. A Billy Wilder and Jack Lemmon film. Can't wait to don on the green stockings. I'm sure Shirley will find it funny! This will be one of the best parts of 2012. Can't wait to have the time of my life.
